2010 Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2010 vintage in the Napa Valley was exceptional despite the unusual growing season that seesawed from a cool, damp start to the year to an intense heat spell just before harvest. Bud break and flowering in the spring were a few weeks past their customary timing followed by a summer with slightly more moderate temperatures than is typical for the Valley. However a deep heat spike in late August enabled the vines to quickly catch up to optimum ripeness. Yields were lower than normal with the remaining fruit showing excellent flavors and concentration with well-shaped tannins and acidity for creating elegant, beautifully balanced wine.
This classic Chardonnay expresses the best of its Napa Valley appellation with pear, citrus and tropical fruit aromas complemented by well integrated oak. Flavors of bright melon, peach and lemon crème are beautifully balanced with a touch of minerality in the finish.
